Need Holes? Like the Ones in Your Head?

So wait a sec… you tried to hang shelves… that hold things, on a wall, with nails? WTF? I can understand not using drywall anchors (with screws) if you’re not putting anything heavy on them, but a nail? Thinking about it further, I’m not sure I’m more confused by the review or that someone found it helpful!
